Mid-century Art Noveau Style Black and Gold Floral Rhinestone Brooch

A little something about this vintage treasure

A very nostalgic design even in the 1950s when this brooch was manufactured. The mid-century, especially after the Second World War, saw tribute to Victorian and Art Nouveau designs. As exemplified in this brooch, the floral and leaf pattern is typically Art Nouveau. The last picture shows a bookplate design by Art Nouveau illustrator Louis Rhead (1857–1926).

This gorgeous brooch will delight any coat or jacket you pin on. A true heirloom piece with beauty that transcends time.

1950s - 1960s

6.5cm x 2cm

2.6" x 0.8"

Very good although it shows signs of wear. Overall beauty is not affected.

The last picture is taken from artist and designer John Coulthart's website. You may click here to read more about Art Nouveau's bookplates design.
